Surge in forged Oxycontin scripts forecast

Pharmacists are being warned to expect a surge in forged prescriptions as a “harder to crush” reformulated tablet is set to be launched onto the market, aimed at reducing diversion.

A letter from the Pharmacy Guild of Australia urged pharmacists to be vigilant of scripts presented for oxycodone, especially non-PBS prescriptions for large quantities of 80mg doses.
