Sydney doctor arrested over child abuse material, drugs

Police said they went to the home on Macquarie St about 7.30am after receiving information that the man was allegedly in possession of child abuse material.

Investigators executed a search warrant which produced mobile phones and computers that allegedly contained child abuse material, police said.

They also seized cocaine and steroids.

The doctor, 31, was arrested at the home and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with possession of child abuse material, and possess/supply prohibited drugs.

He was granted bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on 24 October 2013.

Police said investigations were continuing and urged anyone with information to come forward.
