Employers funding doctor's medical education could be hit by the Federal Treasury's proposed tax grab on work-related education, the AMA warns.

Controversial plans to cap tax deductions for work-related, self-education expense at $2000 a year have already sparked outrage across the medical profession, with fears it will lead to hikes in doctors' CPD costs.
The proposed cap — to be in place by July next year — would apply to journals, conferences, workshops, seminars, accommodation and meals, as well as travel expenses.
