The ten most common unused drugs

An audit recently found that more than $2 million and 600 tons per year of medicines are discarded and been collected through the National Returned and Disposal of Unwanted Medicines (NatRUM) program.

The audit found that more than 84.5% of the medications being discarded are scheduled drugs.

The most commonly discarded drugs are:

  1. Salbutamol
  2. Insulin
  3. Frusemide
  4. Prednisolone
  5. Glyceryl trinitrate
  6. Telmisartan/amlodipine
  7. Fluticasone
