Ten-year moratorium on IMGs puts patients at risk: AMA

Australia needs to do more to support IMGs brought in to remote areas to plug workforce gaps, the AMA says.

In an updated position statement, released on Wednesday, the association calls for IMGs — who make up 40% of the rural workforce — to be provided with better recognition, support and conditions for the work they carry out in some of the toughest clinical environments in the country.
