TGA probe seen as opportunity for pharmacists

An urgent TGA probe into potentially dangerous homeopathic teething products is an opportunity to educate parents about appropriate treatment for infants, says a leading pharmacist.

The TGA announced 11 days ago that it carrying out “urgent laboratory testing of homeopathic teething products” on the Australian market.

Dr Geraldine Moses, a clinical pharmacist in Queensland who has a role with the Australian Dental Association, says parents need better knowledge about what treatments are appropriate for baby teething – and pharmacists can play a role.
