TGA slaps ban on sports stimulant

DMAA (1,3-dimethylamylamine) is commonly used in supplements designed to be consumed before workouts and has been found as an ingredient in party pills.

But it has been linked to high blood pressure, headaches, vomiting, brain haemorrhage, stroke and death, health authorities say.

DMAA would be listed under Appendix C of the Poisons Standard and its sale, supply and use would be banned
