'Thank God I had a GP who took my concerns seriously'

A GP has been credited by a mother with saving the life of her unborn baby after she was allegedly turned away from the Victorian maternity unit implicated in seven baby deaths.

Last week a review of Bacchus Marsh and Melton Regional Hospital by the Victorian Health Department found the deaths of seven babies at the hospital between 2013 and 2014 were the result of poor obstetric care, including the inability of midwifery and medical staff to monitor fetal surveillance by cardiotocography.
