The youngest children in a school class are more likely than their peers to be prescribed drugs for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a Western Australian study shows.

The findings indicate that developmental immaturity is being mislabelled as a psychiatric disorder and unnecessarily treated with stimulant medication.
