Guild says changes are good news as they protect the supply chain
The Federal Government has passed new PBS legislation that gives community pharmacy three reasons for a collective sigh of relief.
- Certainty over ownership location rules, with the removal of the sunset clause.
- A price disclosure cap. At present the PBS price of a medicine is dropped if the average sale price is at least 10% lower than the PBS price. This threshold will increase to 30% for medicines that have already gone through seven price disclosure cycles.
