Three things to know about new MedsCheck rules
Pharmacies can now provide a MedsCheck or Diabetes MedsCheck for patients taking high-risk medications.
Patients taking a medication with a high-risk of an adverse event are eligible for the medication programs.
These are among number of rule changes for MedsCheck and Diabetes MedsCheck that have come into force this month.
Here are three things you need to know:
- Pharmacies can make up to 20 claims per calendar month.
- Pharmacies now have more time to submit claims. They have until the end of the next calendar month to submit a claim. For example, a service provided in March can be claimed until the end of April.
- A new requirement to collect patient data at the initial consultation and six months later will start from February 2018.
Indexation has been applied to all medication management programs under the 6CPA. The new fees are:
