Thumbs-down for e-cigarettes

The World Health Organisation is urging countries to restrict the use and marketing of e-cigarettes.

That’s because of evidence that the increasingly popular devices “pose serious threats to adolescents and foetuses”, according to a WHO report that calls for restrictions on the sale to minors and on indoor use.

In addition, the report says the nicotine and other toxins in e-cigarette vapour are unhealthy for adult non-smokers.
