Tool launched on Indigenous addiction

A new handbook has been launched to help doctors address drug and alcohol issues in Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander patients, and is freely available online.

The book, a partnership between the University of Sydney and various Aboriginal and health agencies and doctors, has chapters covering complex overlapping issues such as mental health, hepatitis and polydrug use.

It was first distributed in June at the National Indigenous Drug and Alcohol Conference in WA.
