Top dollar: Who are healthcare's biggest political donors?
Political donations for the past financial year have been revealed, causing the usual hue and cry.
The multimillion dollar donation of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull (pictured) to his own party was subject to a high degree of scrutiny, but plenty of health interests dipped into their wallets as part of their own attempts to win friends and influence people. All except the doctors' groups, it seems.
No donations were made by the AMA or the RACGP, which has attempted to take on a new — and somewhat controversial — role as the top lobbyist for GP specialists.
