Tribunal rejects AHPRA's chaperone recommendations

Mere hours after its release, an AHPRA report contending that chaperones fail to protect patients from sexually predatory doctors was tendered to a disciplinary hearing — and largely rejected.

After taking the report into account, Queensland’s Civil and Administrative Tribunal nonetheless decided to allow Dr Cesidio Colagrande, a cosmetic surgeon convicted of sexually assaulting a patient, to practise under the watch of a chaperone.
