Triple therapy backed for type 2 diabetes

 New guidelines for treatment of type 2 diabetes recommend triple therapy with a gliptin, metformin and a sulfonylurea, even though this is not supported by PBS criteria.

The recommendation is part of a new algorithm from the Australian Diabetes Society aimed at showing the appropriate place in treatment pathways for the many new therapies available for type 2 diabetes.
