Tristar boss defends IMG supervision

The owner of the country’s largest rural corporate has defended the support given to his IMG doctors in the wake of fears the supervision system is not being adequately policed.

Last month the Medical Board of Australia acknowledged it was not directly checking the supervision of thousands of doctors on limited registration — instead it relied on the reports of supervisors, who in many instances were the doctors’ employers.
