Bulk-billing corporate Tristar has denied holding a rural community to ransom over an alleged $100,000 fee to transfer patient records to the town’s new general practice.

Tristar’s six-year association with the NSW Riverina town of Hay ended last month, but Hay Shire Council says the corporate is refusing to hand over medical records to the GP taking over the community medical centre unless it receives $100,000 to cover administration
