Turmeric adds spice to life

Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, may slow the effects of ageing in the brain, according to research presented at a Melbourne symposium.

“The main findings are that curcumin significantly improves mental function in older people, improves working memory and attention and also people’s fatigue and energy levels,” says Professor Andrew Scholey (pictured), who discussed the study at the Blackmores Institute Symposium in Melbourne.
