Two fruits a day keep depression at bay

Increased fruit consumption may be one of the most effective ways of reducing depression through diet, say Queensland researchers.

The findings from a  prospective longitudinal study of 6,271 middle-aged women shows reduced odds of depressive symptoms among those who eat two serves of fruit per day, even after adjustment for factors such as smoking, alcohol, BMI, physical activity, marital status, education, energy, fish intake and comorbidities.
