Uncertainty over value of beta-blockers

Beta-blockers have no mortality benefit in patients post myocardial infarction (MI), say researchers involved in two studies published in The American Journal of Medicine.

In one study, beta-blockers were found to increase the risk of heart failure post MI and the researchers suggest current guidelines be reviewed.
