University tipped to start training GPs
A university is on the verge of taking over GP registrar training across most of one state, in the biggest shake-up of GP training in 20 years.
The Federal Government is still in final negotiations with the 11 organisations that have been chosen as new regional training providers. Currently, there are 17 RTPs.
Their identities remain confidential, but Australian Doctor has been told that James Cook University is likely to be awarded the contract to cover North West Queensland.
