Using a low-fat diet to fight breast cancer

Women on a low-fat diet who develop breast cancer tend to live longer than those who follow a normal diet, according to a large US study of postmenopausal women.

Almost 20,000 participants took part in a dietary intervention to reduce their fat intake to 20% of calories and increase the amount of fruits, vegetables and grains they were eating, while a similar number served as a usual-diet comparison group.
