Using the right language

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia says owners and employees have a right to understand the employment law that affects them.

The Guild has this week lodged a plain language draft of the Pharmacy Industry Award with the Fair Work Commission, saying their position is that a modern award should be written in a way that is appropriate for the audience.

The move is part of the proceedings for the four-yearly review of the award.

Guild national president George Tambassis, said: “Employment law is complex subject matter. However it should not be compounded by difficulty in language.”
