Warfarin still number one anticoagulant

Uptake of the new anticoagulants has been slow in the US, with most atrial fibrillation patients staying on warfarin, registry data suggest.

Just 12.6% of anticoagulated patients were taking dabigatran and rivaroxaban in 2011, with the remainder taking warfarin, according to figures from the PINNACLE registry, which includes over 121,000 AF patients.
A little less than 50% of patients were taking any form of anticoagulation — consistent with previous
