Warning over rise in counterfeit drugs

Global sales of counterfeit medications have almost doubled in the last six years raising concerns about the health risks for patients who unknowingly take fake drugs that often contain incorrect ingredients and dosages, UK research reveals.

The review study published in the Internal Journal of Clinical Practice shows that access to prescription-only medication (POM) is “alarmingly unrestricted”.
