What goes in - must come out

Adenoma detection rates may be 16% higher in colonoscopies carried out using water-infusion compared with air insufflation, according to a Cochrane Review.

The meta-analysis of 16 randomised controlled trials, published between 2010 and 2014, shows that while at least one adenoma was found in 20% of colonoscopy candidates  using the standard air technique, 23% of patients were detected with adenomas using the water-infused method.
