What you need to know about the EpiPen shortage

Australian Doctor explains

Media reports of a national shortage of EpiPens have sent some patients with allergies into a panic, but doctors are being advised that alternative options exist.

Australian Doctor explains.

What is in short supply?

According to manufacturer Mylan Australia, only EpiPen Jr (150µg adrenaline) auto-injectors are in short supply — not the adult 300µg version.

The company says it is experiencing a temporary shortage of EpiPen Jr due to an unforeseen delay in supply from the overseas manufacturer.
