US study results support Australia’s regulatory policy

Australia’s policy not to allow direct-to-consumer advertising of prescription drugs appears to be working if the US experience is anything to go by.


A study published in The Annals of Family Medicine has found these ads, which are legal in the US, are becoming more "extreme" and "problematic" with an emphasis on drug benefits rather than consumer education.
