After leading the push to crack down on alleged rorts in the after-hours sector, the AMA is now concerned proposed measures might go too far.

The organisation fears “genuine” GP deputising services could be destroyed by present proposals to limit lucrative “urgent” MBS items to GPs who ordinarily work in-hours but are providing genuinely urgent after-hours care.
