Even frail elders benefit from regular exercise, according to a study that found a good walk and some strength-building activities help to reduce disability.

The three-and-a-half year US study of 1,635 sedentary adults aged 70-89 found that those assigned to a weekly exercise program that included 150 minutes of aerobic, resistance and flexibility activities, were much less likely to experience major mobility disability than those who remained sedentary.
