The Pharmacy Guild is pushing for pharmacists to play a central role as essential healthcare workers in the proposed national emergency plan.


The need to include pharmacists has been highlighted by the bushfire crisis, where pharmacists have been left to make their own arrangements to deal with the emergency, executive director Suzanne Greenwood writes in Forefront.

“The guild and authorities have helped to get supplies to them and organise other assistance, but it is clear that pharmacies must be included in any future overarching disaster management
