Women in pharmacy on the rise

The pharmacy professions’ female skew continues to become more pronounced, as revealed in the latest quarter registration data from the Pharmacy Board of Australia.

The June 2014 data release this week shows 60.16% of registered pharmacists are female, an increase from the 57% recorded in March 2012.

The ACT in particular has a substantial female majority, with 66%, while the state with the most even gender spread is Tasmania, with a 55-45% split.
