$18m rural and remote health workforce boost

One initiative worth $16.18 million would add 387 nursing and allied health workers in what is understood to be the nation’s first nationally coordinated recruitment approach.

The other, worth $1.5 million will involve eight projects focussed on the roles of rural medical generalists and rural dual trained physicians to address the proceduralist services and the high-cost ‘fly-in, fly-out’ services for specialist medical care.
