4 new findings about heart attack risk with NSAIDs

All commonly used NSAIDs increase the risk of acute MI in the first week of use, according to findings from a Canadian meta-analysis.

While the cardiac risks of NSAID use have been known for some time, the new analysis, based on a review of 61,460 cases of acute MI, provides findings on the timing and magnitude of risks with different NSAIDs, the authors say.
