Abbott says no to euthanasia in Tas
Tasmanian Premier Lara Giddings said the private member’s bill sought to establish a state registrar to oversee people seeking voluntary euthanasia. Terminally ill people could end their life within 10 days of their first request to their doctor.
Mr Abbott told the ABC he opposed legalising voluntary euthanasia but his party would not intervene, as it did in 1996 in the Northern Territory.
