ACCC authorises Medicines Australia code - with a caveat

The ACCC has imposed a condition that enables reporting of all relevant transfers of value, rejecting the Medicines Australia draft proposal that doctors who did not consent to the reporting would see their payments reported in aggregate.

It also removes the power of healthcare professionals to withdraw consent to reporting their details after receiving a transfer of value. 

The ACCC says Medicines Australia (MA) must amend the code before 1 October, 2016 to require the reporting of all transfers of value.
