ACRRM welcomes telehealth funds

As part of a $179 million package under the Rural Health Outreach Fund, the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) will receive funding to further integrate telehealth services.

ACRRM president Professor Richard Murray said the announcement would allow the rural college to build on initiatives such as its telehealth hub and virtual community — of some 18,000 members — which allowed GPs and specialists to connect and consult in real time.

Professor Murray said other ACRRM led projects such as TeleDerm and Radiology Online
