Australia trailing in medicine access

The COMPARE (Comparison of Access and Reimbursement Environments) report, released today by Medicines Australia, measures access to medicines across 20 comparable OECD nations.

Australia was ranked 18th out of the 20, ahead of only New Zealand and Portugal.

Less than half the total of new medicines registered by these OECD members since 2009 are registered in Australia, while only 39% of new medicines registered for the first time in Australia between 2009 and 2014 were
