Australian who developed cancer from diabetes drug to fight US pharmaceuticals

Australian law firm Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, in conjunction with US law firm Meyers & Flowers, has lodged a claim on behalf of the man as part of a larger group action against the Actos’ manufacturers and distributors Takeda and Eli Lilly.

Pete Flowers, of Meyers and Flowers, said it was alleged the companies were aware of at least two studies linking the drug to bladder cancer prior to it being registered with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) but deliberately concealed this to ensure it was approved.
