‘Business as usual’ for WA super clinic
The Shire of Roebourne council last month voted unanimously in favour of a plan to build an $11 million GP super clinic in the area.
Construction is slated to begin in September, for a 2015 opening.
The project, which will be built and run by the Pilbara Health Network (PHN), incorporates $7 million in funding from the Labor government’s GP Super Clinics Program.
Oil and gas giant Woodside will provide an addition $3 million in funding, and the Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH) will provide $1 million as part of a clinical training program funded by the Commonwealth.
