Calls to stem IMG flow until support improves
GP groups have called on the government to halt IMG numbers until it can provide them with adequate support during their practice, training and accreditation.
The call comes despite the Overseas Trained Doctor National Education and Training program (OTDNET) that begins in January.
Devised by General Practice Education and Training (GPET), the program will provide IMGs in rural areas with a tailored training program.
