Chronic pain management website launched

This week NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner launched a website designed to improve the quality of life of people living with chronic pain. 

The initiative from the Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI), part of the NSW health system, was developed in response to the NSW Pain Plan of 2012 which committed $26 million over four years to enhance specialist pain services and expand the number of pain clinics in the state, most notably in rural areas.

ACI’s chief executive, Dr Nigel Lyons, said funding of $337,000 was allocated to the ACI to build resources to support pain management in the primary care and community setting as part of the plan.
