Community naloxone gets green light in ACT
The program will involve prescribing the opioid antagonist to potential overdose victims along with "comprehensive overdose management training" for users, their friends and family.
It will be staged in the ACT and follows similar programs operating in the US, Europe, Canada and China and pilot studies in the UK.
The program is backed by the Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drug Association ACT
(ATODA) and a formal launch will be held on Friday in Canberra
