Discounted scripts part of $19b pharmacy deal

PHARMACISTS will be able to offer discounts on prescription medicines under a $19 billion accord struck with the federal government.

Health Minister Sussan Ley today confirmed she had agreed in principle on terms for the 6th Community Pharmacy Agreement, to take effect in July for the next five years.

“A key component of the agreement will include a doubling of investment in new and existing support programs for patients to $1.2 billion over the next five years, including a greater focus on regional and rural services,”
