Doctors outraged as extra 4 billion cigarettes head to Oz from NZ
Imperial Tobacco will be spending $45 million on an upgrade to its Petone factory near Wellington.

The factory will be capable of producing 8000 cigarettes a minute, and manufacturing staff will increase from 70 to 120, according to the Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand (TSANZ), which is holding its annual scientific meeting in Canberra.
The cigarettes coming to Australia will supply 100,000 smokers, 20% of whom will die of tobacco-related diseases, TSANZ president Professor Paul Reynolds said.
