Doubts arise over mandatory reports
ONLY one in every 60 mandatory reports is lodged by an impaired doctor’s regular treating practitioner, according to an analysis of AHPRA records that raises suspicions about under-reporting.
The health regulator received 846 mandatory reports in the 15 months to January 2013, according to researchers from the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Health Policy, writing in the MJA.
