The call came just hours before Health Minister Tanya Plibersek and Coalition shadow health spokesman Peter Dutton faced off in their first televised pre-election health policy debate last week.
RDAA president Dr Sheilagh Cronin said increased local medical graduate numbers had created “huge opportunities to deliver a homegrown future medical workforce to the bush”.
“We just need to get the policy settings right,” said Dr Cronin.
