Global hero: Tribute to Aussie immunologist 'Coops'
Influential Australian immunologist and HIV researcher, the late Professor David Cooper was honoured at a special reception at the International AIDS Conference 2018 in Amsterdam last week. This follows the memorial service in Sydney in June where friends and colleagues paid tribute to Professor Cooper, who died in March after a short autoimmune illness. Carmel Sparke reports.
He is remembered as a man with a towering intellect, a huge heart and as a leader in research that has saved countless lives globally.
