GPs to rally against cuts
The AMA will hold GP rallies in capital cities around Australia before parliament returns in February.
The group is privately lobbying parliamentarians to have the rebate change disallowed by vote when parliament resumes.
“This is going in before parliament has even had a chance to consider it,” said AMA president Associate Professor Brian Owler.
“For many patients going to see their GPs, it will mean they will be asked to pay more out of their own pocket... GPs can’t absorb those sort of costs
